This week we have updated some of our most popular Phonics tools in the 4-7 section of Tools for Literacy. These activities now contain word and phoneme patterns up to and including alternative pronunciations and spellings (Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds).
We've added 3 new activities to each of Flash Cards, Word Segmenter and Phonic Pencil, making these full "tool sets" for our phonics progressions.
This means that teachers following Letters and Sounds (or similar) now have tools for teaching blending and segmenting for Phase 2, 3, 4 and 5. These tools also now fully complement our Skill Builder Phonics Games. See the overview document in any of the tools for a handy cross reference document.

Look out for our new Spelling Skill Builder Area, which we are releasing in late September. This will include spelling activities related to Phase 5 and 6 words, High Frequency Words and common Word Families, taking our 'Word Level' provision up to upper primary age.
