In 2016, Chinese New Year is on Monday 8th February, when the Year of the Monkey will begin. This pack has a choice of two assemblies - with full scripts and slideshow images - as well as useful non-fiction information about the festival and a popular folk story. Also included is our Zodiac Spinner - a fun activity for pupils to find out their Chinese animal! Do they agree with the personality assessment? In addition, pupils can colour a dragon or design an exciting firework display. For a KS1 narrative mini-unit - based on the Chinese folk story of the Naming of the Years - see the literacy pack Chinese New Year - The Race.
