Find the percentage, decimal and fraction for the relative number of coloured squares.

This activity focuses on the equivalent representation of fractions, decimals and percentages.

NOTE: You can deactivate any of the representations by clicking the buttons at the top of each one. At the two higher levels of the game this may be appropriate as the fractional values are trickier to work out. This does however provide an excellent opportunity for using estimation and deduction as a way of problem solving.

Sort or shuffle the grid and count or estimate to work out the percentage, entering this as a decimal and fraction as well. The activity is quite repetitive so can be used to build basic understanding as a prelude to comparison problems with mixed representation.

Also try the partner activity Decimals, Fractions and Percentages Colouring, which reverses the process and asks the user to colour in squares to represent the amounts given.
