Compass Points and Simple Grid References
Find your way in this ICT game, using compass points and grid references.
Using co-ordinates, compass points and directional arrows. Use the N, E, S, W arrows to move the boat around the grid, avoiding the islands. An opportunity to introduce simple grid references, asking students to move the boat to certain islands. Ask what are the co-ordinates of the different beaches, for example. Ask for instructions to get there, either using compass points or move to square a2, then a3.... etc
