Compare times using two digital clocks.

A TES iboard+ teaching tool for asking a variety of questions related to duration, start and end times. This improved version has a number of options to allow quick setting for different abilities. Set both clocks to ask duration. Set either clock and say a duration. The challenge is to set the start or end time depending on the clock set.

    Time to Run! PACK +

A super, sports-themed TES iboard+ collection. The main thrust of this pack is time durations - and therefore it practises subtraction skills, mostly of numbers up to 100 (e.g. time recorded in seconds or minutes; or durations within the hour). Pupils could be extended to tackle durations of longer than an hour. A simple stimulus, 'Hare Race', introduces the context, with random differences that pupils should calculate mentally. Some will be very easy, others more tricky, like difference between 48 and 62. Discuss counting-on strategies with pupils, using a number square or number line for reference. Further activities approach the problem in different ways: word problems, comparing clocks and a space-themed game which is there just for subtraction practice (borrowed from our Skill Builder pack).
